Aggressive Photo of the Day: Free (Semi) Portable SF DPW Trash Recepticle

by Andrew Dalton on October 27, 2009

IMG_3790, originally uploaded by aggressivepanhandler.

Spotted this weekend on Divis between Fell and Oak. This is just like when they close down baseball stadiums and sell off the old seats. Except instead of seats it’s trash can. With too-small recycling compartment for cans & bottles, of course.

Haight-Ashbury and the Panhandle, originally uploaded by Telstar Logistics.

Telstar Logistics – the people behind that sweet zeppelin (don’t call it a blimp) took to the skies over San Francisco in a slightly more nimble craft to get some photos. Here’s one over the Haight and the Panhandle.

by Andrew Dalton on October 23, 2009

If you’re at all interested in the local music scene (which you should be, because of how you live here) you’ve probably caught wind of our local Pitchfork-heroes Girls. And I hope you managed to catch them before they blew the fuck up and started touring the world. They’re probably off somewhere right now playing [...]

by Andrew Dalton on October 15, 2009

Flickr user expuestosiempre who brought us those shots on Tuesday of the big man-eating tree on Haight and Broderick has put up a time-wasting lapse video of the cleanup. Surprisingly, that SUV looks to have emerged relatively unharmed.
In related news, HolierThanYou commenters have started to rally support for getting that poor cyclist a new wheel: [...]

Coporate Sponsored Painted Ladies?

by Andrew Dalton on October 14, 2009

Alamo Square makes a cameo in this video of what San Francisco would look like if John Conner fails to stop Skynet if the plan to install lighted billboards along Mid-Market passes. Scary stuff, but the Painted Ladies do get a lot of eyeballs, as they say in the biz. (What biz?)
