Has it been three months already? Our friends behind the Divisadero Art Walks have updated their blog to announce the next round of art sales, food specials, and extended happy hours on and around Divis. Right now, the line up of deals looks as solid as ever: $1 oysters at Bar Crudo. Half off at Acme Burgerhaus, Little Star, Tsunami Sushi, and Bar 821 among others. Live art at Bean Bag, and new art openings at pretty much every place that hangs stuff on their walls. Oh and you get a “free desert” [sic] with a $15 purchase at Da Pitt/Lilly’s BBQ. (They have dessert at Lilly’s?) Check out the post for the full list, as well as this preview of some of the artwork that will be going up in March.

Yelp has declared the first week in March to be Yelp Drinks Week! (They also declared that you have to end every sentence about Yelp with an exclamation point!) Anyway, Yelp Drinks Week means there will be loads of hand-made, half-priced cocktails around town, and for us in the neighborhood it means $5 off a couple of $10 drinks at Madrone that I haven’t seen on their menu before. I have no idea what’s in any of these, but if someone spots them on the drink board before Yelp Drinks Week hits, let me know. Also, if you don’t like handmade drinks then maybe you should check out  Barbot 2010 at DNA Lounge this Wednesday and Thursday instead, where you can drink shit made by evil robots who are poised to destroy the bartending industry.

Listen up, we know it’s Tuesday and you could pilfer some Popeye’s for 99 pennies, but there’s a new cafe in the hood  and some decent deals on Little Star (cowabunga!) that might sway you from the purveyor of poultry. As Broke-ass Stuart pointed out yesterday, Little Star Pizza on Divis will be tossin’ up half-priced pizzas from 5-7pm, courtesy of Viv! Just ask for  the “Viv Special” to get your cheap pizza on, doughboy. But, before you do any of that, you might want an afternoon coffee from your preferred coffee destination to get you through your Tuesday. We suggest that you do this morning afternoon ritual over at the  new Matching Half Cafe at Mcallister and Baker. Grab a friend and one of those hot-off-the-press copies of the NOPNA newsletter that’s sitting on the counter and redeem their buy one, get one free coffee coupon in the back. (It’s good through November, and probably December too according to the owners.) You’ll be looking smart with that free cup of joe and be on your way to carpe pizza.

Look, we all know there’s a whole shitload of stuff you could be doing tomorrow night for Halloween. Maybe you’ve got a friend shelling out for VIP Bottle service at some club on Van Ness, or maybe you’re going to mourn the loss of Halloween in the Castro for the third year in a row by braving the police presence and FlashMobbers at the Embarcadero. But over here we are lazy, cheap, and really hate trying to find a cab on Halloween (especially if when our group of slutty mummies and recycled Arrested Development references has more than 4 people in it).

So, for the sake of all our sanity and in the spirit of livable/walkable cities (barf, kill me), here’s..

An AggressivePanhandler’s guide to Halloween in the Neighborhood:

Attack of the ZOMBIES at 2024 Hayes St. FREE from 7pm to 9pm – Presumably put on by the children and parents of the New Traditions School on Hayes, I couldn’t actually find any information about it other than the photo above. Children must be accompanied by an Adult. Adults must be accompanied by a flask of whiskey*.

FringeSF at Madrone Art Bar (500 Divis at Fell) FREE before 10pm, $5 after. – Fringe DJs Blondie K and subOctave will be turning out indie rock (my favorite!) mashed up with videos and horror movies. PRO-TIP: Head over here immediately after your trip to the Haunted House on Hayes, grab a drink and get a handstamp. Then barhop up and down Divisadero or Lower Haight until you’re ready to jam on more Bat for Lashes.

Yeah, I know…that’s only two definite events, but here are some other neighborhood events that won’t interfere with your nighttime ghoulish merrymaking:

Trickster Treat III: The Halloween Time Machine $5 Entry, $5-10 sliding scale for screenprinted tees. 2PM start at Duboce and Steiner. – It’s a freakin’ Choose Your Own Adventure Alleycat race, so bring your bike and your costume and tear up Duboce park. Bonus points to the organizers for sequentially numbering the event titled to make it more horror-movie-like.

NOPNA’s Annual Halloween Block Party FREE at 1801 McAllister at Baker. Starts at 4pm at the old Cafe Neon/new Green Chile Kitchen location. The kids will be parading down to Lyon st and then the nighttime block party kicks in on Grove and Lyon streets. If you’re looking to scare away your hunger (sorry) with something other than candy corn, Green Chile Kitchen will be onhand selling burritos – a perfect place to stumble over to mid-barhop.
