About
by Andrew Dalton on July 16, 2009Welcome to Aggressive Panhandler, congratulations – you’ve found us! Instead of trying to talk about ourselves in the third person with fancy words, we’re going to do this Q & A style. Feel free to submit your own.
Q: Neighborhoods in San Francisco seem to change names based on how much rent one can charge in a particular area at a particular economic climate. You guys seem pretty cool, so what is your preferred nomenclature for the neighborhood?
A: Why thank you! We just like to call it “The Panhandle” because “NOPA” is already a restaurant and that’s a stupid abbreviation anyway. Google Maps calls it “North Park” but I’ve never, ever heard anyone use that in real-life conversation. (Perhaps a smarmy Realtor?) “Western Addition” seems to have fallen out of favor as the only people really using that are just kids trying to make their neighborhood sound tougher than it really is.
Q: So what neighborhoods do you cover then?
A: Pretty much anything that’s within reasonable walking distance and has places we frequent: Lower/Upper Haight, Western Addition, the Panhandle, sometimes Pac Heights or Cole Valley if we’re feeling fancy.
Q: Do you guys actually live in the neighborhood?
A: We’d would be doing you a disservice if we lied about that.
Q: Would you guys actually classify yourselves as, “aggressive?” Or is that just a shtick?
A: We’re not really aggressive like, say an untrained and unloved Pit Bull. Rather, we’re more like a rescued Pit Bull that has calmed down a lot but doesn’t necessarily have all the table manners it should.
Q: Why do you hate Jared Leto so much?
A: We would never wish any harm on Jared Leto and we very much enjoy his films. (The ones he acts in.)
Q: How can I get in touch with you guys?
A: Feel free to send us tips and upcoming events by reaching out to us via your internetworking system of choice:
But who writes this tripe anyway? Well, friend, Aggressive Panhandler currently consists of:

Live in or around the neighborhood and want to contribute? Feel free to tell us that too.
Have fun out there.

jie: please do not use violent language if you are accusing someone of doing just that. The term you used to refer to this girl (whom I am not defending) is one that is loaded and, akin to swastikas, a symbol of intolerance and hatred. As a Jewish woman, I find both incredibly offensive and hurtful. Yes: my family was killed the Holocaust, and I have women in my family who were killed because of their genders (as women). So please, think a bit more before you speak. Thanks. - please...
