Haight Street’s Smelliest Grocer Expanding

by Andrew Dalton on May 21, 2010

From EaterSF comes word that the Haight Street Market, that more-than-a-bodega-but-not-quite-a-grocery store establishment in the heart of Upper Sit/Lie Territory is expanding into Massawa next door. If that place wasn’t crunchy before, we can’t wait to see what becomes of it with double the square footage. Perhaps people will Sit/Lie amongst the vegetables? Park their dog next to the deli counter and ask for donations? Offer you weed by the ice cream case?

But we kid! It’s a family-owned business, so good for them.

  1. Erik says:

This place is way more than not-quite-a-grocery store.

  2. I very much enjoy the way you phrased that. +1!
