Let’s All Ride Bikes to Oakland and Laugh at Jared Leto [Or not!]
by Andrew Dalton on February 25, 2010
Jared Leto’s awesome band is playing at the Fox Theater in Oakland on May 13th. Do you know what that means? It means we should organize some sort of “critical mass of bicycles” to ride over to Oakland (preferably by blocking traffic on the Bay Bridge, because bikes on BART is so conformist) and protest the mistreatment of that bike rider in that awesome video about riding bikes off of the Santa Monica pier or whatever.
Or we could all just go on a bike ride that actually sounds fun (there’s a theme!) and have a beer afterward. NoPa Velo’s rides start and end at neighborhood cafes and you’re almost guaranteed to not get hit by Jared Leto’s chauffeur. So, yeah, let’s do that instead.
Next NoPa Velo ride is:
Sunday, Feb 28th.
9:30am meetup at Matching Half [McAllister and Baker]
10am start time
12:30pm post-ride drinks and lunch at Bistro Gambrinus [Masonic and Fulton]

jie: please do not use violent language if you are accusing someone of doing just that. The term you used to refer to this girl (whom I am not defending) is one that is loaded and, akin to swastikas, a symbol of intolerance and hatred. As a Jewish woman, I find both incredibly offensive and hurtful. Yes: my family was killed the Holocaust, and I have women in my family who were killed because of their genders (as women). So please, think a bit more before you speak. Thanks. - please...
