Ice Cream Watch 2k10, Day 2: Humphry Slocombe Comes to DeLessio

The neighborhood craft ice cream wars are heating up! Yesterday, we had an update on Chile Ice Cream & Pie, which I thought was great because where the fuck do you get ice cream in this neighborhood that isn’t a tub of Chunky Monkey from the corner store? (I mean, besides Three Twins in Lower Haight, of course.)

But today I spotted someone on twitter mentioning that Humphry Slocombe is now available at DeLessio Bakery (you know that little place inside Faletti’s next to Nopalito). What’s more: we know the Humphry team is in bed with NoPa/Nopalito because restaurant staff celebrated Nopalito’s one-year anniversary with an ice cream social at the confectioner’s shop.

I can’t wait to see how this ice cream war plays out. I will personally be tracking this story until the streets run green with mint chocolate chip.
