Spotted this sign and a diligent carpenter with a circular saw outside of the old Green Chile Kitchen space on Fulton and Baker. I’d heard rumors that the place was going to be converted to an ice cream parlor or sorts (from who? Ice Cream Rumormongers, of course!) but it looks like they’re keeping the “Chile” branding as well.
No word yet on whether they will be serving frozen versions of their red & green chile salsas, but ice cream, frozen yogurt, & homemade pies is a big win for the neighborhood. Now that the weather is back, I’m gonna start loading up triple-scoops that I will inevitably drop on the panhandle bike path.
UPDATE: Tablehopper reports that there will be chile-flavored ice cream, except it will be “chile chocolate flavor”. Also, their one savory item will be Frito Chili Pie.
