Yelp Editor Names “North of the Panhandle” Best Dining Neighborhood. [Facepalm]

by Andrew Dalton on December 31, 2009

Yesterday, EaterSF posted another installation of their year-end throwaway post series “Experts Pick the Year’s Best…” where they email some other food bloggers and chefs with twitter accounts and other people who have a tertiary interest in food service to give vague and lengthy answers on food-related topics from this year. (Such as someone from “Tacolicious”, which I think is a children’s book I saw on the sale rack at Urban Outfitters.) Another one of those other people was Yelp’s Editor-in-Chief and Marketing Dynamo (his words), because if anyone knows the food trends it’s the marketing guy from a social networking site that revolves around people complaining about their dates.

Anyhow, Mr. Dynamo enthusiastically named our fair neighborhood as the Best Dining Neighborhood for 2009 and while you’ll hear no complaints about the food from us (After all, we did get Nopalito, Bar Crudo, and a new name for Lily’s BBQ this year.) we won’t exactly be stoked if suddenly we notice more people taking pictures of the food in neighborhood establishments.

Just kidding, Yelpers! We’re all reasonable adults here who can give a fair and balanced restaurant reviews that sound nothing like Livejournal entries. Now does anyone have a +1 for the next Elite event?
