You Will Never Be Cool

Let’s face it, by the time you’ve reached maximum cool-ocity by picking out your favorite trendy beer/neighborhood/number of gears for your bicycle those things have probably already jumped the shark/nuked the fridge/been hit by a limo.
Most recent evidence? The Wall Street Journal has dubbed the North Oakland neighborhood of Temescal as a “yupster magnet” and “Oakland’s answer to San Francisco’s Mission District.”
I’m all for revitalizing neighborhoods, but it’s kind of a bummer that both Curbed and SFist got scooped by The WSJ. But then maybe that means this whole “new media” thing really was just a fad?
