AggroPa to Local Business Owner: “You’re doing it right”

In their recent coverage of the upcoming Divisadero renovations, the Examiner interviewed the Michael Richardson – owner of Lilly’s Bar-Be-Que #2 Lilly’s #1 Da’ Pitt BBQ at Divis and Grove. But what does he have to say about the renovations?
“I think it’s a great idea,” he said. “The neighborhood is already changing and all, you can see that. But [my restaurant] has a parking lot, so it’s a little bit easier for us [to survive construction] than other businesses.”
If anything, one would imagine a PacHeights-ification of the Divis corridor would bring on the NIMBY’s who might try to poo-poo such…shall we say, “authentic” businesses in the neighborhood. (After all, we’ve already got B’s BBQ up the street and they hang artwork!) But if we’ve got Richardson’s blessing, then bring on the whitebread.
